Exploring limits and potential of new genomic techniques

A warm welcome to Sophie Watts, who is joining the Molecular Plant Breeding group as postdoctoral researcher. Sophie will work in the frame of the Joint Initiative “Engage”, funded by the ETH Board, under the supervision of Dr. Giovanni Broggini within the “MPB Horticulture Hub” at the Agroscope Research Station in Wädenswil.
In her project, Sophie will explore potential and limits in the application of new genomic techniques to important agricultural crops in Switzerland.
Sophie has recently earned her PhD-degree in the Dalhousie University, Canada, in the group of Prof. Sean Myles.
