Characterisation of bacterial wilt resistance in experimental germplasm of Italian ryegrass

Rahel Lenz will be working on her Bachelor’s thesis in the Molecular Plant Breeding group and at Agroscope Reckenholz. Rahel will conduct a greenhouse experiment to assess the level of resistance to bacterial wilt in a bi-parental mapping population and additional genotypes of Italian ryegrass using artificial inoculation. The data will be used for QTL mapping and targeted characterisation of candidate resistance genes. Rahel will be supervised by Jenny Peter and Dr. Roland Kölliker.
